The #underSTAND is campaign with an aim to conquer extremism online. It was initiated in Serbia by a group of young professionals who are currently participating in program P2P: Challenging Extremism.
The purpose of this campaign is to educate youth about prevention of recruitment done by extremistic groups on Internet. Instruments used in the campaign will focus on social networks, peer-to-peer activities and media appearances. The campaign will consist of several phases:
1. The release of high production video no longer than 2 min.
Much of the recruitment is done online, often through videos, therefore we decided to fight back with the same tool. Video clip will leave a strong message that no matter what reasons, we always have a choice NOT to become violent.
2. Sharing photos with short messages that will raise awareness of the problem of extremism. It will be done via social networks.
3. Peer-to-Peer activities.
Each member of our team is going to organize presentations of the campaign in high schools, universities or some relevant NGO, where our target group will be informed about the project and its aim. The plan is to engage every member of the team to gather at least 15 people, who will later on spread the message of our campaign.
4. Media appearance
The participants will personally work on spreading the word by public appearances via TV, Radio, or by having an article published in newspapper or on some relevant Internet portal
